Festive season off to a flying start at Perth Airport

20 December, 2016
Perth Airport is gearing up for a fantastic festive season with an exciting array of activities, entertainment and displays across all terminals.

“We want everyone visiting Perth Airport over the next few weeks, to have a happy and safe travel experience,” said Kevin Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Perth Airport.

“During this busy period, it’s always a good idea to allow extra travel time to and from the airport so that your holiday gets off to a stress-free start. Make sure you check your itinerary carefully for the correct travel dates and times, and which terminal you are departing from,” said Mr Brown.

On the T1 International forecourt you will be able to see our amazing Boab tree, with more than 21,000 LED lights creating quite an impression.  The Boab is complemented by kangaroos and Australiana-themed trees across the terminals.

This year, the Christmas lights at Perth Airport have been dedicated to the Lights for Lifeline, Lifeline’s campaign.  Lifeline is a not-for-profit suicide prevention organisation that provides services 24 hours a day, seven days a week and all monies raised will support their important work.

If you are in T1 Domestic, be sure to visit the Christmas tree display in the Departures lounge, past security screening. The trees are draped with handcrafted decorations made by students from local schools who took part in this year’s annual Christmas tree decorating competition.

"Perth Airport has a long standing commitment to our local community and our Christmas tree decoration competition offers some great prizes for the winning school and brings some additional cheer to our passengers,” said Mr Brown.

Santa will also be visiting the terminals with treats for the kids and a number of performances will entertain passengers arriving and departing Perth Airport.

“Whether you are travelling during the holiday period or just visiting the airport, we’re sure you’ll be immersed in the Christmas spirit at Perth Airport,” said Mr Brown.
