Qatar Airways flagship aircraft arrives at Perth Airport

01 May, 2018
Qatar Airways will commence operating its flagship A380 aircraft on its daily services between Perth and Doha today – generating a capacity surge of 45 per cent on the route.

“The A380 is the largest commercial aircraft – and Qatar Airways’ decision to utilise it on this route, strengthens its commitment to the Perth market,” Mr Brown said.

“The larger aircraft will add almost 109,000 additional seats providing an extraordinary opportunity to bring more international tourists to our capital city and our State,”
he continued.

The A380 new-generation 517-seater aircraft contains a three-class configuration of eight seats in First Class, 48 seats in Business Class and 461 in Economy Class.

“This is a quality aircraft being operated by one of the world’s top airlines and with Qatar Airways’ major sectors beyond Doha being London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Rome and Paris, this opens up new opportunities to attract more tourists from the European market.

“It also provides West Australian’s with greater opportunities to explore the northern hemisphere thanks to Qatar’s connection to 45 European destinations,” Mr Brown said.

Qatar Airways double-decker A380 service will replace the Boeing 777-300ER on its daily services between Perth and Doha and will undoubtedly enhance customer experience.
