Water

Perth and the greater south of Western Australia experience a dry Mediterranean climate including extended periods of low rainfall. Water shortages within the Perth area highlight the critical need to manage and minimise water use.

Whilst water use is minimised and groundwater is used for garden reticulation, the airport estate remains a large user of water within its buildings, for landscaping and in other operating areas. As part of its Sustainability Strategy:

  • Perth Airport is committed to increasing the water use efficiency of its operations across the estate.
  • Perth Airport will develop a water efficiency management plan, develop water efficiency targets and continue to investigate water use efficiency improvements across the estate.
